It’s Sweets’ 6th!!! birthday today. This morning he got a plethora of yummy treats. He is now resting and digesting.

Mom was annoying me by taking a bunch of photos of me while I was trying to relax on the couch. I showed her my appreciation by yawning about 4 times in a row. That’s how she got all these pictures.
Since she got so many photos of me yawning, I thought I would describe the process of yawning, canine-style. There are 3 main stages.
Stage 1
This is the first stage of yawning. This is where the whole yawning process begins. First, you begin by opening your mouth. If you get this stage wrong, the entire yawn gets messed up. Afterall, you can’t yawn without beginning to open your mouth.
Stage 2
This is where I open my mouth as wide as caninely possible. This is the last stage before I begin to close my mouth.
Stage #3
No, I’m not growling or showing my teeth out of anger. It’s stage 3 where I make sure my cheeks and lips are back in place. If I don’t do this, the next time I bite something, I might bite my cheeks off.
Those are the 3 stages of yawning. Hope ya learned something.
In case you don’t know…a “Wubba” is any toy of choice that is near Sweets. I tried to teach him the name of all his toys and the first one I trained him to know the name of was his Wubba (that Kong toy with “tails”). He did so well at it that every toy is now known as a “Wubba”.
Happy Saturday everywoof/one. Hope you all are having a great weekend. Sweets are spending some time relaxing and then going to visit Grandma tomorrow. Sweets buddy, Judy (human buddy), will be there to spoil the crap out of him. I’m sure he’ll have a very pleasant day.

Just a quick, short video of my little “bubby” Sweets. Nothing much happens, but he is sooo super cute, I just had to share. Hope you enjoy it.
Hope everywoof/one had a great weekend. It was super hot here when all the dogs got together for a play day. I would have to say that it was the most humid day of the year so far. I was begging for a thunderstorm, but it just didn’t happen. Sweets had a great weekend. He acted tough with Ben, sweet and playful with Maggie and attacked and/or ignored Bailey. You know, the usual.
My camera is absolutely terrible when the background is sun. Well, it’s not even sun, really. Any light brighter than the foreground and it gets this weird pink thick line through the shot. Weird.
I hope this stuff works. The last time I went to the vet, he told me Sweets would need to get his teeth cleaned next year. I’m going to do whatever I can to prevent that so I am trying this stuff. I just hate the idea of putting Sweets to sleep for something as dumb as a teeth cleaning. It’s not the price that scares me, it’s the whole sedating thing that scares me. I hear it’s way more risky for little dogs and that freaks me out.
Sweets turns 6! in almost 3 weeks. I am trying to think of what treat he would love the most. It’s got to be something food related because he’s all about the food. He was born August 9th, 2004.
It’s another hot and humid day in Southern Ontario. Sweets is handling it much better now that he is all groomed. He no longer spends all of his time on the kitchen floor. I’ve decided that from now on, he is getting groomed every 6 weeks instead of every 8. It’s only 2 weeks difference, but I think it will make all the difference in his comfort level, especially during the summer months.
Here he is chilling on top of his favourite couch. He spends most of his napping time here. You can see how obviously relaxed he is in this video. After I finished shooting it, he moved to the other couch. I guess I irritated the poor little thing. Awww!
I’ve been walking Sweets first thing in the morning (about 6 am) because it gets so damn hot and humid these days. I think he appreciates the walkies and the fact that it isn’t too hot for him. When it’s really hot and I take him for a walk, on the way back home he coughs a couple of times. As I’m sure you can imagine, I freak out a little. The vet said he has a minor heart murmur and that this could happen. Still, it makes me really nervous.
Sweets got groomed yesterday. These photos are from before that, obv. To cool Sweets off before his grooming, I gave him refrigerated peanut butter in a Kong. Again, it was ass-in-air good, as you can see. I think he could live on this stuff. He just loves it. He prefers peanut butter to marrow bones.
Sweets reminded me it was about time I update his blog by sticking his tongue out at me. Either that or he just had some peanut butter remnants on his moustache.
Sweets went to the groomers (or as he says “butcher”) yesterday to get a nice cool hair cut. It’s really short, like I requested. I also requested that she (the groomer) cut a lot off of his ears (a couple of inches) and chop his tail much shorter as well. His tail fur/hair was so long that when his tail wasn’t curled over his back, it would drag on the floor. The grooming couldn’t have come too soon because it is scorching hot again this week. I’m going to start getting him groomed every 6 weeks instead of 8. I think 8 weeks is just that little bit too long.
I’ll be sure to post photos of his spiffy new look soon. He does look really super cute, though. He always does, but now, especially so.
